My Pandemic Playlist/Watchlist

My Pandemic Playlist/Watchlist

“Saul Goodman,” stuck in the desert, quaffs some liquid gold.

It’s Day ???? of Shelter in Place. I’m still tied to my computer 16 hours a day for work and connection to the out world.

Here’s my Pandemic Watchlist, most with live links:

Bingewatched:
Better Call Saul, seasons 1-4 on a borrowed NetFlix account, then I watched free episodes on AMC and purchased episodes on YouTube.
This is a tightly written show, a “prequel” to Breaking Bad, that follows Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman, the fixer/lawyer of the protagonist of Breaking Bad. It provides  fresh and intelligent setups. It’s not perfect (you might wake up in the morning and think about its not-quite-rights, but it’s h

Watching:
Sailing La Vagabonde, short videos on YouTube
A charming and videogenic Australian couple and their toddler are sailing the ocean blue on their 48?-foot catamaran.
Both really work to create videos showing what it’s like to be liveaboards as well as the locations they visit (who knew the Chesapeake was so charming?). Of particular note is their trans-Atlantic voyage taking Greta Thunberg and her father from Maryland to Portugal after her appearance at the United Nations climate talks (aka the “How Dare You?” appearance).

And sometimes:

Crazy Lamp Lady
Based in Pennsylvania, this woman shows us what she buys at thrift stores and flea markets for resale. Mostly, I like listening to her. Again, that charisma thing.

and I’m now bingewatching the new season of The Last Kingdom (set in the 800s, battles of the Danes, the Saxons, et al over England—eye candy) and reruns of reruns of British mysteries on public TV as always…

Live interaction!

Co-working with Jen Heller, aka “Artsy Geek”
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. PDT
Just a few of us. We start with a meditation or a bit of Chi Gong via YouTube, then mute and work. Then come back for a “dance party” (Jen picks a song and we dance). Then back to work for another 45 mins.
Zoom: Ask me or host Jen Heller for the login

Shut Up and Write, Monday and Thursdays, 7 to 8:30 pm PDT
Folks meet, check in on what they hope to write for an hour or so, then unmute and report on their progress. It’s pretty casual. Join us!
You might also find this on Meetup. We used to meet up in person at Crossroads Cafe in SF (yes, the one staffed by prisoners) until it decided to close on Mondays.
Monday: Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/7337997160
Ask me for the password.
Thursday: Check Meetup in SF. Link to come.
